About Football Squares

Football Squares is a small browser tool for running a squares pool. It fills the grid, draws numbers anyone can check, works out who won each quarter, and prints the sheet. This page says what it does, what it does not do, and how to reach us.

What the site does

Type or paste the names into a 100, 50 or 25 square board, draw the numbers once every square is sold, then enter the score at each break. The winning square lights up with the name and the prize beside it, and the payout calculator splits the pot by quarter or by every score change. The same board prints as a landscape page on US Letter or A4, and a share link opens it read-only for anyone in the group chat.

Why the draw can be checked

Each draw is a seeded shuffle of the digits 0 to 9 for each side, and the draw code printed on the board — something like K7QX-92MD — is the seed. Anyone can type that code into the check box on the board and get the same numbers back, so the draw can be audited after the fact without trusting us. Drawing before the last square is sold is the one thing the design cannot protect you from; draw late, and lock the board afterwards.

Your board stays on your device

No account is needed and no board is uploaded. Names, scores and prizes are held in this browser, and a share link carries the whole board inside the part of the address after the “#”, which browsers do not send to a server. Only anonymous usage counts, the email you choose to send us, and a hashed network address for rate limiting ever reach us.

What is free, and what is not on sale yet

The generator, the random numbers, the winners, the payout calculator, share links, printing and a black and white PDF are free. The paid plans — a Fundraiser Board and a Season Pass — are planned at $4.99 and $9.99. Checkout is not open, no payment provider is connected and nothing is charged: the checkout page only keeps an email address so we can say when it opens.

How the claims here are checked

The draw, the winner lookup, the payout maths and the PDF layout each have their own automated tests, run before every release; the payout calculator is checked to add up to the pot to the cent for any price and split. You do not have to take any of that on trust: check a draw code yourself, or read the privacy policy to see exactly what is recorded.
